 The volerie des aigles, in Kintzheim

Up in the mountains in Kintzheim, a fortified castle is the setting of a breathtaking show: performed by its residents! Vultures, eagles, condors, buzzards and other birds of prey will offer you a unique experience. After the show, you can go nearer and observe the beautiful birds close up on their perches. In addition, not far from there, young animal lovers will be glad to know that a colony of Barbary Macaques have elected domicile on… the Monkey Mountain, very near!

The Château des défis, in Fleckenstein

At the top of its 337 m., the Fleckenstein castle is one of the most beautiful medieval ruins in Alsace. The vestiges include among others a troglodyte staircase, which will immediately set the atmosphere! But most importantly, the castle organises a trail punctuated with enigmas and games.  No doubt your children will love to go down the timeless slide which has the magic power of taking those who go down it straight back to the 12th century.

The Ecomuseum of Alsace in Ungersheim

The Ecomuseum of Alsace in Ungersheim was born from the willingness of passionate and relentless volunteers. It gathers 70 buildings, which are all remarkably restored or looked after. A real immersion into Alsacian traditions, the Ecomuseum aims at being a living place! There are many activities organised year-round for children and adults. Feed the pigs, potter’s wheel, etc. At Christmas time, the whole village comes to life in accordance with the traditions of the Advent period, deeply established in Alsace.
