"Is there a great scientist sleeping inside you? If so, EDF Electropolis Museum is right up your street! It recounts the history of an exciting adventure - electricity. It starts in Ancient Times, goes through the centuries with a number of experiments, discoveries, theories and inventions right up to modern times where everything works at the flick of a switch! You are invited to take part in experiments like those undertaken in the 18th century and observe strange phenomena. New exhibition areas with shows, collections of extraordinary objects, domestic appliances and special effects place the spotlight on the magic of electricity which revolutionised everyday life in the 20th century. The masterpiece of the museum is an exceptional Sulzer-BBC steam machine alternator, the last witness of the era of the Universal Exhibitions. This machine weighing 170 tonnes, including the wheel measuring 6 m in diameter, is put in the spotlight several times a day at the heart of a multimedia show. "
