Cernay

Known since Antiquity (battle of the Ochsenfeld which saw the victory of Julius Caesar over the barbarian troops of Arioviste), Cernay has retained some vestiges of a fortified town dating from the Middle Ages. The streets of the town centre have remained faithful to the square plan of the old town and the Porte de Thann houses the historical museum. Wander through the streets to find traces of the past, admire the storks that gather in the park of the same name or take a break in the Parc des Rives de la Thur. With its rich industrial past, its advantageous location, the dynamism of its inhabitants and its attractive business parks have attracted numerous companies (automotive equipment, chemicals, textiles, etc.). It is also an essential stopover town at the crossroads of the most picturesque tourist routes in Alsace: the Wine Route, the Ridge Route, the Trout Route.
