The Saverne Rose Garden, second French Rosery, awarded in 2002 by the Rose World Committee, has been created in 1898 by Louis Walter. It suggests all the nature fans the discovery of more than 8 500 rose stocks with 550 different varieties in a setting of 1.5 ha. Succumb to the temptation of a visit of the Rose Garden. You will be allured by its architecture and its all the more rich and pleasant collections. Enjoy particularly the discovery of charming powlonia trees, whose flowers contain a poison used in the production of pharmaceutical products. Let the rose perfumes, which represent treasures whose appreciation has neither borders, nor limits, inebriate you. Besides, benefit from such a visit in order to familiarize you with the various types of rose trees existing, such as the shrubby rose trees for example. The Rose Louise Weiss, will put you in high feathers thanks to her scarcity and authenticity. On top of that, do not miss the Rose Festival, that is held each year on the 3rd Sunday of June, and the Exhibit of Cutten Roses. The professionals will also be able to express themselves by taking part to the New Roses Contest, that was created in 1923. More information available by the Tourist Office.
