Reichshoffen

The town of Reichshoffen is situated at the entrance to the North Vosges National Park. The church and Chateau, both dating from the XVIIIth century, are classified historical monuments. There are also towers and ramparts dating from the XIIIth century and the Altkirch (XIIIth century), the remains of a former leper-house. Reichshoffen was made famous by the famous cavalry charge in 1870 (see monument dedicated to the centenary of the battle en route for Woerth). The Iron Museum testifies to the town's long tradition. En route for Jaegerthal, you will see a superb expanse of water classed as "a natural reserve and mountain lake" with an observatory for aquatic fauna (way- marked and "nature" footpaths).
