Founded in 1864 by Gerard Adriaan Heineken, the Heineken group is today one of the leading European companies in the brewing sector. It has 115 breweries located in 65 countries, and producing 170 brands of beer. The Espérance brewery in Schiltigheim is open for visits. The general public and professionals alike can discover the history of the brewing industry here including the brewhouse dating from 1932, and naturally sample the group's mouth-watering products!
