The National Rhine Opera

A musical organisation unique of its kind in France

Created following the merger of the vocal ensembles of Strasbourg, Colmar and Mulhouse, the National Rhine Opera operates in a truly unique manner. The management of the opera is jointly handled by these three towns, each of which has its own particular area of responsibility, these being: opera for Strasbourg, ballet for Mulhouse and the training of young singers for Colmar. With more than 140 performances each year, the National Rhine Opera plays a vital role, and one which extends beyond France's borders.
