Unique landscapes

This pass with its distinctive local name is the highest in the Vosges area at an altitude of 1139 m. Crossed by the Peak Route, it links the Fecht Valley of Alsace with the Meurthe Valley of Lorraine. The fir tree forests clinging onto the rocky or leafy slopes make this an excellent place for a visit. The area offers an unbeatable view of the numerous rounded peaks of the Vosges hills and of the Black Forest, not forgetting the Munster Valley. Hiking enthusiasts will certainly appreciate the many farm-inns along the trail, which provide unrivalled opportunities to tuck into local specialities and products.

Winter and summer activities

A wide range of activities can be practised at the Schlucht Pass. During the winter, it is extremely popular with Alpine and cross-country skiing enthusiasts. In the summertime, among other things visitors can enjoy mountain biking, paragliding, motorcycling and grass sledding… not forgetting hiking and rambling of course!
