For a long weekend (3 days):
Day one: Strasbourg
- The cathedral district:
Don't miss: the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Kammerzell house, the Palais Rohan and the Œuvre Notre-Dame Museum
- The "Petite France" district:
Don't miss: the "Ponts-Couverts" (covered bridges) and the various canal crossing points, the fortifications designed by Vauban, and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art.
- The French district:
Don't miss: Place Kléber and Place Broglie
- The German district:
Don't miss: Place de la République and Place de l’Université, in addition to the botanical gardens.
Day two: The Haut-Koenigsbourg and Mont-Sainte Odile
- Visit to Mont-Sainte Odile
Don't miss: the remains of the pagan wall, the unbeatable view over the Alsatian plains, the Mont-Sainte Odile monastery and the marked out tourist trails.
- A guided visit around the Haut-Koenigsbourg
Don't miss: the amazing view over the Ballons des Vosges and the Alsatian plains, not to mention the impressive architecture.
Day three: Discover the wine route by bicycle
- Ribeauvillé
- Riquewihr
- Kaysersberg
For a short stay lasting five days:
Day four: A visit to Colmar and its surrounding area
- A visit to the Unterlinden Museum
- A visit to the old town including the rue des Marchands, the Collegiate church of Saint-Martin, the Dominicans church, the Maison des Têtes, the Maison Pfister and the Grand’Rue.
- A visit to the "Petite Venise" district (Little Venice)
- If you would like to spend a little longer visiting Colmar and its surrounding area, Vauban's military masterpiece at Neuf-Brisach is certainly worth a visit.
Day five: A visit to Mulhouse and its museums
- Morning: A visit to the Cité du train (Train city) or the Cité de l’automobile (Car city)
- Afternoon: Visit to the mediaeval quarter including the Place de la Réunion and the Hôtel de Ville (town hall). If you have any time left over, why not take a stroll in Mulhouse's zoological gardens.

Day six: Discover the "peaks route"

Day seven: Discover the Ballons des Vosges Nature Park
