A world of exciting animals waiting to be discovered
A world of storks and animals
More than just a symbol, storks are a living part of the region's identity. For centuries, they have headed here to build their nests in the Alsatian churches. Long threatened with extinction, today they can once again be admired in the wild or in wildlife parks, not only in Cigoland, but also in the wildlife park at the stork and otter breeding centre.
And after the storks, why not head off to discover some more exotic animals?
At "monkey mountain" children can roam freely and get close to up around 300 Barbary macaques living freely on the site. Nearby, you can also visit the Eagle Park, home to numerous majestic birds of prey, overlooking the Castle of Kintzheim. Impressive vulture demonstrations are held here, providing a sharp contrast to the graceful storks! In the living exotic butterfly garden, you can discover more than 150 varieties of butterflies from all around the world. By the way, did you know that the largest butterfly has a wingspan of up to 20 cm?
